Obituary: Died at his residence, in Henry township, Fulton county, Ind., May 1, 1881, of congestion of the lungs, after an illness of one week, Mr. David Clemans, aged 65 years, 4 months and 20 days. Deceased was horn in Logan county, Ohio, January 11, 1816. He emigrated to Fulton county in 1836, when said county was a comparative wilderness. Was married to Hannah Biggs April 18, 1843. The fruits of this union were seven children, six of whom, with the widow, still survive. The deceased located in Henry township as one of the pioneers of the county, and by hard knocks and the assistance of his companion, have made themselves a comfortable home out of a part of what was at that lime a wilderness, and having lived on the same farm all the time, have enjoyed the fruits of their labor. It can be truthfully said of the deceased that he was an affectionate husband, a kind father and a respected citizen. He was strictly honest in all his dealings with his fellow men, and was always ready, when called upon, to minister to the wants of the needy, and was always ready to oblige those who might call on him for a favor. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. B.Alliman, of Silver Lake, at the Mt. Hope school house, after which he was followed to the cemetery, near by, by a large concourse of relatives and friends, who paid their last tribute of respect to the deceased.
