Gilbert Bligh Bushnell

Gilbert Bligh Bushnell, 76, a resident of The Dalles, died at the Oregon Veterans Home on Monday, Dec. 6, 2004.
He was born July 30, 1928, in Dexter, the second of three children to Julius and Helen (Permenter) Bushnell. He grew up in Dexter then served in the Army during World War II.
After the war, he returned to Oregon, working as a railroad lineman in La Grande and Baker City.
He married Clarice Joann Anderson on Feb. 9, 1955, in Portland. They lived in Eastern Oregon and Portland.
He was a member of the Portland Eagles Lodge, and enjoyed motorcycles, his family and photography.
He is survived by his children, Ruth Fuller and her husband, Louis, Redondo Beach, Calif.; Donna Moon and her husband, Ricky, Vinemont, Ala.; Robert and David Bushnell, both of Portland; five grandchildren, a great-grandchild, former wife, Clarice Birch, Portland; sister, Maureen Logan and her husband, Steve, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Bushnell, in 1962; his brother, and a half sister, Jean.
Graveside services will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland at 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17 with Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
Remembrances may be made to the Oregon Veterans Home Memorial Fund, 700 Veterans Drive, The Dalles, OR 97058.
