"He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora Strode Hammer; four sons, Jay Marrs Hammer, Ray Bowman Hammer and Jesse Wayne Hammer, all of Tompkinsville, and Bethel Hiram Hammer, Indianapolis, Ind.; three daughters, Mildred Ford, Washington, Mo; Lucille Johnson, Indianapolis, Ind., and Athalene Cleary, Route 2, Tompkinsville; one brother, Turner Hammer, Tompkinsville, and two sisters, Hattie Graven, and Linda Perdue, both of Indianapolis. There are also 19 grandchildren.
"Funeral services were conduted by Bro. Stan Craig at Yokley-Polston Funeral Home Wednesday, September 1, at 2 p.m. Burial was in Hammer Cemetery.
