Charles Lee Sears, 75 years of age, departed this life on Sunday, April 19th, 2009 in the presence of his loving family.

Charles was born in Drum, Kentucky on June 6th, 1933, son of the late Raymond and Retha Alexander Sears. Charles was a member of the East Somerset Baptist Church, a Korean War Navy Veteran, and a kind person who is greatly missed by all who knew him.

Charles was survived by his wife, Gerdine Adkins Sears; one son, Jason Sears of Somerset, Kentucky; three daughters, Darla Miller and Carla Cook, both of Somerset, Kentucky, and Karen (and Terry) Lawrence of Knoxville, Tennessee; two sisters, Faye Hargis and Helen (and Woody) Kelly, both of Somerset, Kentucky; one brother, Sam (and Diane) Sears of Somerset, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Linda Adkins; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Sears and Retha Sears; one son, Chuck Sears; one sister, Ruth Mounce; his father-in-law, Vola Adkins; and two brothers that died in infancy, Raymond Sears Jr. and Earl Don Sears.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009 in the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Thompson officiating.

Burial followed in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Pulaski County, Kentucky.

16. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
