Stella was the daughter of Julia and John Chandler. In 1900, Stella, her parents, and siblings, Fanny (age17), Lulu (age 14), George (age 10), Laura (age 8) and Luke (age 3), living in Milton, Umatilla County, OR.

Stella and Edgar were married on May 3, 1918, at the first M. E. Church in Seattle, WA. In 1920, they were living with her parents in Everett, WA. Stella was employed as a telegraph operator.

By 1930, they had moved to Oakland, CA, and had three children, Edgar C. (age 8), Agnes M. (age 6) and Lester F. (age 4). They continued living in Oakland up to at least 1950.

Their youngest son, Lester Floyd Pullen, was born June 15, 1925 in Alameda County, CA, and was living in Claremont, CA, at the time of his death.

Veterans Administration records show she enlisted on June 19, 1919, in Oakland, CA.
