Fletcher Gaddis, 75, died at Rosary Hospital August 2, of heart failure. He was born in Taylor County October 3, 1892 the son of Terunia Stayton and William Gaddis, and resided in the Gaddis Ridge Community, Rt. 1, Elkhorn. His third wife, Dixie Cox Gaddis, survives. They were united in marriage December 4, 1932. He was first married to Ida Woodrum, October 3, 1910 and she died January 13, 1917. His second wife preceded him in death on January 31, 1932. They were married August 1919. He is survived by his wife who resides on Route 1, Elkhorn; four children: Clarence Gaddis, Route 1, Elkhorn; Mrs. Gertie Wilson, Shelbyville, Ind.; Rev. Gaddis, Valley Station, Ky.; and Mrs. Gracie Wood, Route 1, Elkhorn. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one half-brother, Hubert Gaddis, Louisville. Four children preceded him in death: Clara, Hazel, Olive and Dolly Gaddis; two brothers: Sanford and Robert Gaddis; and three sisters: Letha Herron, Lou Cox, and Florence Wood. The funeral was held August 4 at 2 p.m. in the Lyon's Funeral Home Chapel. The services were performed by Rev. Stanley Vincent and Rev. Dave Middleton with burial in the the Gaddis Cemetery. Mr. Gaddis was a member of the Stoner Creek Methodist Church. Pallbearers were A. D. Gaddis, Gerald Gaddis, Jack Gribbins, Harold Gaddis, Paul Gaddis, and Wallace Cox.
