STANTON.--Mrs. Pamela M. Stanton, wife of A. J. Stanton, and daughter of Harvey B. Sackett, also sister of Rev. Charles H. Sackett, of Wyoming Conference, passed triumphantly to her home in Heaven November 19, 1888, aged 29 years, 5 months and 24 days. At the early age of fifteen years she gave her heart to Christ and her name in the Methodist Episcopal Church, of which she has since been a devoted and faithful member. Her disease was consumption. She lingered many long and weary months, tenderly watched over and cared for by her companion. She received the ministry of love and affection from kind friends and a loving sister. As we visited her from time to time, and especially as she was drawing near the close of life, we could but feel assured she was standing only a little outside the golden gateway, and that soon a convoy of angels would come to escort her in triumph to the glory of her heavenly home. Her record for the power of Christian faith is left for our good. Her pure, unspotted Christian character will be an epistle long read and remembered in this community. The funeral services were attended from her late home, where a large concourse of friends gathered to pay their last tribute of respect to one who was so endeared by strong ties of love and affection to all. The writer, her pastor, took the appropriate words found in Isaiah, ixi, 3: "Beauty for ashes" as the basis of his remarks.
