So for now we will call him Linton E. Davison was born 18 August 1868 in Brownville, Jefferson, New York. Born a twin to William James Davison, they were always close. Linton worked most of his life as a painter, also taking a turn as a trolley car driver in Peoria, Peoria, Illinois. He moved back and forth from Peoria where William lived and Clinton, Iowa where his father lived in later life. He was living in Clinton in 1900 where he had married Nellie Clark December 14, 1895. By the 1900 census they are listed with a daughter Vivian Davison born in 1899 in Illinois. Were they there visiting his brother? I don't know. By the 1910 census, Linton is back in Peoria and listed as a widower, and no mention of the daughter. I had thought she had died possibly with her mother. Although recently I found a census record for Vivian in the 1925 Cedar Rapids, Iowa State Census and it lists her parents as Nellie Clark and Linton Davison...research continues. Recently, I found a whole new side to the mystery. There must have been a divorce, which wasn't very common back then as in 1901 Nellie lists herself as a widow in the directory in Iowa, by 1905 she is married to Henry Horn, and after than he is remarried and she has disappeared. Anyway, Linton is a widower by the 1910 census as early in the year his second wife Henrietta Bock, a younger sister to Anna, was killed with their two children in a fire that started in the stable below. The only reason he lived is that he went out on the roof to try and get help, and fell off just as the roof was crashing in. His small family was killed in the fire when the roof collapsed. He stayed with the Bock family and married Anna Sarah Bock later that year.
In 1910 Linton married Anna Sarah Bock, and they were together until his death on April 6, 1945. They are buried together in Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, Illinois.
