Paul Douglas Phillips better known as "Doug" was born May 11, 1963 in Madison County and departed this life Friday, April 17, 2009 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Berea, being 45 years of age. He was the son of the late James Everett & Reba (Marcum) Phillips.
Doug is survived by one daughter- Melissa Ann Phillips of Pennsylvania; by one sister- Judy Lynn Morgan & Ralph Mayes of Berea and by two brothers- Keith Ray Phillips & Cindy of Tyner and Randy Lee Phillips & Tiny of Dayton, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Doug was also preceded in death by one sister- Rita Faye Phillips and by one brother- James Everett Phillips Jr. He was blessed with one grandchild, and by a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was of the Baptist Faith.
Funeral service 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Freddie Berry and Bro. Dan Botrell officiating. Burial followed in the Bennett Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Crowder, Doug Johnson, Robert Johnson, Eric McElory, Michael Marcum Jr. & Randy Harrison Jr. Honorary pallbearers were James Shearers, Keith Phillips, Randy Phillips, Randall Harrison, James Wilson, Craig Broughton, Albert Phillips & Ralph Mays. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge arrangements
