"Mrs. Clara Churchill, aged 77 years, died Friday night following a number of weeks of ill health.
Funeral services were held at the home in charge of Rev.
J. H. Stewart Sunday afternoon.
Burial was made in the Portland cemetery.
Mrs. Churchill had been a lifelong resident of this vicinity. Her maiden name was Clara Whitlock and she was born on the old Whitlock homestead one mile north of Portland where she resided until her marriage to James Churchill when
the couple took up their residence in the house where her death occurred.
Mr. Churchill died in 1916. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Francis Reynolds, who resided with her mother, and Mrs. Herbert Schafer."
