C L Benjamin, New Milford Treasurer, Dies

Charles L Benjamin, treasurer of the Borough of New Milford,Pa, died yesterday afternoon at Medical Arts Hospital, Montrose Pa. Mr Benjamin, who was 78, had been a New Milford grocer for 50 years before ill health forced his retirement two years ago. He was a former vestryman of St Mark's Episcopal Church in New Milford and a member of Kalurah Temple of the Shrine, Binghamton; New Milford Lodge 607 F&AM, and Royal Arch Masons Chapter 276 and St Andrew's Commandery 27, both of Susquehanna, Pa.

Mr Benjamin is survived by his wife, Henrietta; a son Nelson J Benjamin of Binghamton; a daughter, Mrs Walter Lewis of New Milford, a half sister, Mrs Edward Thomas, Washingtons Crossing, NJ; five grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:30pm Sunday at St Mark's Church, with the rector, the Rev Willard Prater, officiating. Burial will be in New Milford Cemetery.
