William Allen Quarles was the oldest son of William Preston and Quillie Anne (Pennington) Quarles. He was born in Japser, Tennessee on March 3, 1892.
He married Mary Etta and is survived by daughters Beatrice Burton, Opal Bryant, Rosie Lee Williams, Paralee Elrod, Arval Thomas, Naomi Hughes and Virgie Mae Yieger. Their sons are Robert and Frank Quarles. Allen is also survived by his brother, Jess Stanley, also of Durant.
