Alta was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Charter member of Cub Scout Pack 16, a member of Burton Kiwanis, Life member of Davison Chapter of O.E.S. #299, member of El Said Court #28. Alta has served on the Burton City Planning Commission since 1991 and the Burton City council for sixteen years.
