Leola Christine (MacAlpine) Davis, 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away Monday,
March 26, 2007. She was born in Bad Axe on July 5, 1922 to the late Duncan and
Christine (McTaggert) MacAlpine. Mrs. Davis graduated from Bad Axe High School in
1940. She was a registered nurse and during her career, she was employed by Saginaw
General Hospital and Harper Hospital. She retired in 1985 after 32 years of employment
with the Veterans Administration Hospital in Indiana. She is survived by four sons,
Michael (Eileen) Davis, Ronald Lee Davis, David Alan Davis, all of Indianapolis, and
Steven (Judy) Davis, of Valparaiso, Indiana; one brother, Dr. Orville (Jean) MacAlpine;
three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two
brothers, John and Alden MacAlpine; one sister, Margaret Marie MacAlpine; and two
stepsisters, Helen Miller and Tesla Marybell. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on
Thursday, March 29, 2007, at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Burial will be at
McTaggert Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on
Thursday.
