Timothy was the first Wilmot to come from Connecticut to live in Vermont. He married Mary Copp of New Hampshire in August 1783 in Norwich, Vermont. They had a large family. The children spelled their last name with one L. The little cemetery that is on the farm was called Kinney Cemetery. Timothy and his wife was buried in the Old Soldier's Cemetery south of the farm on Hemlock Road in Pompanoosuc, Vermont.
