Richard John "R.J." Dickens, Sr., 84, born July 9, 1924 in Brentwood, MO. He attended Maplewood high school where he won many swimming medals and was an Eagle Scout. In 1943, he joined the Army and served under General Patton in the Mohave Desert. He then joined the ski troopers in Camp Hale, CO. He served in World War II until Dec. 1946. He owned Dick's Standard Service on Woodbine until 1961. He also owned Master Builder's Construction and then retired from Lincoln-McNeil St. Louis in 1984.
