ANTONIA MARIE BARRON

Antonia Marie Fernandez was born June 13, 1921, in Scottsbluff, Neb. In her youth, Antonia was a talented dancer who performed at fiestas and parties. She was well known for her beauty. In 1937 at age 16, Toni married JOHN BARRON, the love of her life. The couple continued to live and work in Nebraska until moving their family to Oregon in 1952. Toni was employed as a waitress, she sold cosmetics for Mary Kay, was a baker, and worked for Grandma's Cookie Company until she retired in 1983.

Toni and John raised three children, a son, John Jr.; and daughters, Carmen and Anita. Toni was a devoted mother and grandmother to her six grandsons and 10 great-grandchildren.

Toni loved the holy Virgin Mary and often prayed to Saint Jude who is the patron Saint of impossible causes. Toni was strong, sometimes stubborn and always out spoken.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John; infant daughter, Lucy; and son, John Jr. Toni is survived by her daughter, Carmen, son-in-law, Geno King; daughter, Anita, son-in-law, Rick Brittain; grandsons, Robert and Eric King, Joe and William Brummond, Mark and Scott Barron; and great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Dominique, Sawyer, Nicole, Alixandra, Andrew, Nicholas, Garret, Olivia and Seveda.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2009, in St. Therese Catholic Church, Portland. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Toni will be laid to rest in Willamette National Cemetery. Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in handling the arrangements.
