Final tribute to the memory of Eugene Anderson, 58, engineer, farmer and political leader, was paid by many friends at funeral services conducted at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Cole and Maud Mcrtuary.
Mr. Anderson died suddenly from a heart attack at 4:45 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. P. J. Murphy, pastor of St. Anthony's Catholic church and close friend of Mr. Anderson, at the special request of the family, assisted at the services.
Music was supplied by St. Anthony's choir with Mrs. A. Aros of Tucson as soloist and Mrs. T. Boyce, accompanist at the piano. Selections were Ave Maria by Schubert, Just for Today by Seavoer and Pie Jesu by Le Bach.
Many beautiful floral offerings were received and a large number of the persons attending were unable to get into the chapel. Pallbearers were James Kruse, Roland Curry, Robert McNatt, H. O. Pace, Paul Austrum, Feliz Lopez, all of Casa Grande, James Sawtelle, of Tucson, and Albert Schlesinger, of Chandler.
Mr. Anderson was a native of Norway and a graduate of the Oslo college of engineering in Norway. He came to Arizona in 1909 and lived for several years in the Salt River valley before coming to Casa Grande 20 years ago. For the past 12 years he has been chief engineer for the Arizona Edison Co.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson, he leaves a brother and sister in Norway.
A requiem mass for Mr. Anderson was said by Father Murphy at 7 o'clock Monday morning at St. Anthony's Church.
