Charles W. Wilder, 75

Charles Wllbur Wilder, 75, 107 Howard St., Shelbyville, died at 6:55 a.m. Sunday, April 10, 1994 at Roudebush Veterans Medical Center in Indianapolis.

He was born Feb. 13, 1919 in Rush County, and was the son of Joseph H. and Rhoda Ann Levi Wilder. He married Rosemary Whittaker in 1946; she died in 1962. He then married Ruth Elliott on June 14, 1975; she survives. An Army veteran of WWII, he was employed as a truck driver by the City of Shelbyville government, retiring in 1978. He also had worked at Phiico Ford in Connersvile for 16 years. He was a member of the American Legion in Rushville.

Survivors besides his wife include four daughters: Rita (Mrs. Roger) Marquardt, Napoleon, Rebecca (Mrs. Harold) Griffith, Shelbyville, Karen (Mrs. James) Clark, Connersvllle, and Clara (Mrs. James) Thomas, Shelbyville; three
sons, all of Shelbyville: James, Charles, and Matthew Wilder; seven stepdaughters: Debra Dennison, Shelbyville, Joyce Abston, Clarksville, Elizabeth Williams, Karen Corley, Patricia Hodgins, Gloria Theobald, all of Shelbyville, and Robin Nigh of New Palestine; two stepsons: Danny Hodgins
and Gregg Hodgins, both of Shelbyville; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, two brothers and one sister.

Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison, Shelbyville, with burial to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery at Shelbyville. Graveside military rites will be conducted by local veterans organizations. Visitation is 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy Funeral Service. Memorial donations may be made to the Shelby County Cancer Society. ______________________________
