Rev. Effie M. Linebrink, 88, Allison Street, Stryker, died Friday morning at her home following an extended illness. She was born June 14, 1891, in Montcalm County, Michigan, to Eugene and Wilametta Ogle Whitney. She was married to the Rev. Walter L. Linebrink June 24, 1911. She was a former school teach. She joined the North Ohio Annual Conference of the United Brethren Church in 1937, and was ordained in 1941, under the leadership of Bishop Musgrave, at the Rothfuss Assembly Park Hillsdale, Michigan. She was a member of the Stryker United Brethren Church, the WMA of the church, past president of the North Ohio Branch of the Women's Missionary Association. She was a member of the Stryker Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by her husband, Rev. W. L. Linebrink; a daughter, Mrs. Glen (Edna) Becker, Stryker; a sister Mrs. Elmira Pursel, Atlanta, Michigan; five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Marion, a daughter Thelma Cummins, and a grandson. Services were Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Bona Vista United Brethren Church in Bryan, Rev. Ernest Belella, Rev. Jason Hollopeter, and Rev. L. W. Rhodenbeck officiating. Interment was in the Frontier, Michigan Cemetery. – The Advance Reporter, April 2, 1980.
