Albert Sidney Smith was born in Old Campbell County (now is Douglas County), Georgia. Sidney moved from Georgia to Texas where he lived until he died. He was married twice: First to Frances 'Fannie' M. Smith (maiden name unknown). and second to Lois Mae Slaughter. He had two children by each of his wives.
