Rebecca Wood Vines, age 87, of Kents Store, Virginia, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010.
She was born December 8, 1922, in Fluvanna County, the daughter of Finley B. and Nettie Glass Wood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Seldon Vines Sr.; three brothers, Finley B. Wood Jr., Henry E. Wood and Charles A. Wood; and two sisters; Margaret W. Fleming and Nettie Wood.
She is survived by her son, Stuart S. Vines Jr. and his wife, Stella; granddaughters, Stacy V. Manuel and her husband, Scott, Shelley V. Stephens and her husband, W.C.; and by her five adored grandchildren, Nicholas, Jarrette, Megan, Cayla and Joshua.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 28, 2010, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Sheridan Funeral Home, Kents Store, Virginia.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2010, at Byrd Chapel Methodist Church, Kents Store, Virginia, conducted by Reverend Jim Joyner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fluvanna County Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 96, Palmyra, VA 22963 or Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Place, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA. 22911.
