MONTEREY β€” Eileen A. Tanner, 86, of Monterey, died at 3:52 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009 at home in Monterey.
Eileen was born to Jerome Hazlett and Ada Marsh on July 16, 1922 in North Judson. She was married on July 27, 1940 at Rochester to E. Allen Tanner. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1999.
She was a resident of Monterey since 1985, going there from Culver. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Knox, and a member of the Jolly 60's club at the church.
Eileen is survived by her sons: Ronald Tanner of Largo, Fla., George (Janice) Tanner of Glendale, Ariz. and Jerry Tanner of Columbus, Ohio; daughters: Donna (Byron) Walters of Ora, Eloise (Jeff) Rose of Minerva, Ohio, Diana (Harold) Fritter of Plymouth, Carolyn (Douglas) Craddock of Warsaw and Jana (Rick) Richardson of Tippecanoe; brother, James Hazlett of LaPorte; 21 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; one son; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home Sunday, April 19, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. EDT. Services will take place at 10 a.m. CST Monday, April 20, 2009 at Bible Baptist Church, Knox. Interment will follow at the Riverside Memorial Cemetery in Monterey.
Memorials may be given to the Bible Baptist Church in Knox or the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
