George M. Womble
Funeral services for George M. Womble, 39, who died at Rex Hospital early Monday, were conducted at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Womble, 210 E. Morgan Street, yesterday, by Dr. John H. Glenn, pastor of Edenton Street Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev. F. H. McLean, assistant pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Montlawn Cemetery.
Womble lived in Raleigh all of his life up until three years ago, when he moved to Greensboro to become the city manager of the W. I. Anderson Wholesale Fruit and Produce Company.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Price Womble; one daughter, Dorothy Ann Womble; a son, George M. Womble, Jr.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Womble; two sisters, Mrs. J. C. Kirby and Mrs. S. M. Fleetwood, both of Raleigh.
Pallbearers were: John P. Swain, Marshall Newton, Roy Cannady, George Long, Nat Berry and Glenn Mullican. (obit provided by Cindy Womble Billman)
