--Funeral services for Martin L. Vickery, veteran star mail route carrier, who fell dead at his home at Liberty Mills Tuesday afternoon, will be held Sunday at 2 o'clock at the United Brethren church of Liberty Mills. Burial will be in the Central Grove cemetery near Lincolnville, Wabash county.
--Mr. Vickery, who has been suffering from heart disease, fell dead Tuesday when he had started to mow his lawn. He was known in Huntington and Wabash counties for his work a generation ago as a mail carrier and passenger hack driver. He drove mail hacks from Wabash to New Holland and Dora for twenty years and ten years afterward was a carrier of mail and passengers between Bracken, Globlesville and Huntington. He then operated the Brookover farm in Warren township, where he reared his family.
--He was born October 22, 1858, in Henry county, near Spiceland, and married Ellen Heavenridge whose death occurred in 1904. His second marriage took place ten years later, the widow, Lillie D. Vickery, surviving. There are the following children: Garl W. Vickery of Huntington, Frank M. of Lapel, Mrs. Frank Glessner of Ashland, Ohio, Mrs. Jesse Tyner of Polk township, Albert L. Vickery of Lapel, James I. Vickery of San Francisco and Robert Aaron Vickery of San Francisco. There is a sister, Mrs. Frank Brouhn(sic) of San Francisco.
