Richard L. Pitzer, 54, 2080 Potato Road, Biglerville, died Monday evening at the Carlisle Hospital.
He was born in Menallen Township, Adams County, he was the son of Aletha M. Herring Pitzer, 2080 Potato Road, Biglerville and the late Ralph L. Pitzer.
He was a member of the Bendersville Lutheran Church and he was a life time fruit farmer. He was also a member of the Buchanan Valley Rod and Gun Club, Bendersville Fire Company, the Pa. Farmers Association, Knouse Food Coop., Growers Equipment Center Inc., and he played baseball in the South Penn League for over 20 years.
Surviving are his wife, the former Kathryn G. Rice Pitzer; three daughters, Lucinda K. Heller, 737 Brysonia Road, Biglerville; Barbara J. Taylor, 1910 Potato Road, Biglerville, and Jennifer L. Mickley, 123 Brysonia Wenksville Road, Biglerville; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Lady, Biglerville and his twin sister, Ruth Jean Unger, Twin Oaks, Gettysburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with his pastor the Rev. Daniel V. Biles III and the Rev. Paul F. Cole officiating.
Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
