Mrs. Sherman Lee Gold, 65, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, March 12, 2004, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.
A funeral mass was celebrated Monday, March 15, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Jose Lopez officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the organist, and Annette Whittington, the vocalist.
Interment followed in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Prior to the funeral, the body lay in state in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home where a vigil service was held Sunday, March 14, at 6 p.m., with Deacon Louis Loth officiating.
Mrs. Gold, a former resident of Alice, was born July 17, 1938, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Adolph Loth and Amalia Lang Loth. She married Sherman Lee Gold on Dec. 30, 1957, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons, three daughters and their spouses, including Shannon Gold and Cynthia Gold, both of Fredericksburg; Anthony and Elsa Gold, San Antonio; Christopher and Elizabeth Gold, Alice; Victoria and Rusty Frederick, Palestine, and Constance and Raphael Parry, Dallas; ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, three sisters and spouses, including Stanley and Patti Loth, Shirley and Calvin Moehle, Barbara and Lyndon Maurer and David Loth, all of Fredericksburg; Leroy and Lillie Loth, Hallettsville, and Mary and Nelson Cavin, Schertz.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Gold's parents preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's School Endowment Fund, St. Mary's Catholic Church or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Kevin Maurer, Mike Moehle, Stanley Loth Jr., Steven Loth, Brice Scharmann, Jonathan Frederick and Jeremy Gold.
