Son of Elijah & Susan (Casner) Boring. Husband of Angeline Wishart. Served in the Ohio 56th Infantry Regiment, Company K during the Civil War. Enlisted 10 December 1861 and mustered out 14 November 1864 in New Orleans, LA. Was temporarily transferred to "Varner's Battalion" from 28 February 1864 to 30 Jun 1864. Was a blacksmith by trade. Was also appointed to postmaster in Erin, TN.
