Opal Irene Woodward of Milwaukie, formerly of Canby, died on November 16, 2004 at a Milwaukie care center at the age of 96. She had resided in the Canby area since 1946 and lived at Rackleff House from 1993 until 2001. For the past two years, she had lived in Milwaukie.
She was born May 4, 1908 in New Virginia, Iowa and she married Carl C. Poschwatta at Jefferson, Iowa in 1927. This couple owned and operated the Sisters Hotel in Sisters, Or. from 1939 until 1946. Carl died January 26, 1967 in Aurora, Or. Opal then married Kenneth Gilbert Woodward on December 27, 1967 in Mulino, Or. Kenneth died on January 20, 1982.
Survived by daughter, Betty Hoke of Oregon City; sons, Robert D. Poschwatta of Oregon City and Carl Poschwatta of Kent, Wa.; ten grandchildren and numerous gr-grandchildren.
