It is also reported that she was born in Burke Co., GA. She married Mr. Touchton in Lowndes Co., GA on Dec. 5, 1931. She married Mr. Dykes in about 1966 in Lowndes Co.

Josephine E. Dykes, 89, of Valdosta died Feb. 22, 2002 at Fellowship Home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Jefferson Co. Feb. 28, 1912 to the late Henry L. and Leila Poole Eason and was a lifelong resident of Lowndes Co. Mrs. Dykes was a member of the Central Avenue Church of Christ. She was a retired bookkeeper for Pepsi Cola Co. and an Avon representative. Survivors include her husband, Clarence E. Dykes of Valdosta, sister, Virginia Hand of Tifton, sister in law, Christine Butler of Quitman, nieces, Joan Freeman Wallace of Quitman, Brenda Hunter of Lake Park, Linda Wilson of Montgomery, AL and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by first husband, Lee Touchton and sons, Harold Touchton and Gerald Touchton. Funeral services were held at Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. John Klimko, Mr. Gordon Teffeteller and Mr. G.R. Holten officiated. Burial followed in Copeland Cemetery.
