Lois Ailene Peters, age 84 of Seven Mile, passed away at her residence on Thursday, December 6, 2018. She was born in Laurel County, Kentucky on April 17, 1934 the daughter of Abraham and Lucy (Chadwell) Sasser.
Lois was employed in sales for Singer Sewing Machines for numerous years.
She was active in the Amateur Radio Club, Civil Defense, and answered phones for the Seven Mile Police Department for over twenty years.
On November 25, 1953 in Laurel County, Kentucky she married Roy P. Peters, Jr. and he preceded her in death in 2010.
She is survived by three children, Vivian (Michael) Gorsuch, Melinda (Randy) McIntosh, and Roy P. (Susan) Peters, III;
five grandchildren, Missi (Daaron) Wilson, Jodi King, Whitney (Mike) Bembenick, Tami (Heath) Coleman, and Julee Adkins;
thirteen great grandchildren, Julia, Jenna, Carter, Cassidy, AJ, Elizabeth, Hayden, Cooper, Kaylee, Kaitlyn, Kenlee, Ruby Ella, and Somer; and
one great great granddaughter, October Lynn; and
numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings, Joseph, Tollie, Jim T., Johnny, Abraham, and Emily Sasser, Maucy Howard, Mary Jane Smith, and Effie Lorraine "Pat" Goldston.
Memorial service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Sarge Arnold officiating.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
