Obituary of Mrs. Maynard. published on January 20, 1920:
Mrs. Derua Maynard, widow of Umbra J. Maynard died late Saturday at the home of her brother, William Toan. Six hours previous to her death, word came that another brother, Robert O. Toan had died in Jackson.
Derua married Umbra Maynard Sept. 14, 1892 in Portland, they had no children. They resided at 1147 Maynard Road, known as the Maynard Place Farm later owned by Robert and Donna Johnson.
Two days prior to her death, on January 8, 1920, Mrs. Maynard married John A. McClelland (born 1855).
At the time of her death, Derua was 50 years,2 months and 5 days of age.
Among those named in the Will of the late Mrs. Derua MAYNARD are: William Toan, who was willed the homestead and farm (MAYNARD Place Farm); Dr. John W. Toan, Miss Mary "Maime" Toan, Robert Toan and Mrs. Jessie Jones, all relatives. Mrs. Maynard's estate was valued at $70,000.
