Mary Frances Blount Hargett, age 88, of Tuscumbia, Ala., died Monday, April 13, 2009. Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. Her funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel, with Ed White and Rickey Collum officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Hargett was born in Iuka, Miss., and lived in Cherokee most of her life. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Louis L. Hargett; son, Ronald G. Hargett and wife, Brenda L. Hargett; sisters, Betty Burcham, Irene Hughes and Inez Burcham; one grandson, Todd Hargett; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers are Douglas Hargett, Kenneth Jones, Josh Burcham, Brice Wallace, James Johnson, Charles L. Hughes, Ray McKinney and Rickey Rich.
Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee, is directing.
