Mildred Kirby died peacefully at home on 18th May 2007, aged 96 years.
Former Principal of Hillycroft School, Park Road, Southborough,
Tunbridge Wells, Kent. (She retired in December 1978)
Much loved by family, former pupils and friends.
Her funeral was held on Tuesday 29th May 2007,
at St Thomas's Church, Southborough, Kent.
This wonderful lady, left a lasting impression on me.
I attended Hillycroft school from 1960 - 1967, where she was
the most wonderful teacher.
My youngest daughter is named Kirby, and we were lucky enough
to visit her in the mid 1990's, at her home, called "Hillycroft"
She had the most wonderful memory and loved
to have news of all her former pupils.
She never seemed to age, she was just Miss Kirby!
Someone I admired immensley.
She is buried in Southborough cemetery beside her brother, Bert and her parents.
