Excerpt -- Joseph A. Beatty, age 72, a well know resident of east Terra Alta, died Wednesday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clay Feather at Pine Run, after a lingering illness. Mr. Beatty was a son of the late Robert and Angela Betty, and was born in Washington County, Iowa, but came to this vicinity in early in life. For a number of years he was employed by the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon and interment was in the Terra Alta Cemetery beside his wife, who before their marriage was Miss. Ruth Beatty. The only survivors is a brother, Parker Beatty, of Cumberland.
