Ralph W. "Speed" BRYANT, 79, Rt. 3, Rochester, died at 12:27 a.m. today in Woodlawn Hospital, where he had been admitted six hours earlier. He had been in failing health five years. He was born Sept. 17, 1904 near Athens to Tom and Jane BRYANT. He lived most of his life in Fulton County. He was married to Henrietta McINTYRE, who preceded in death. On March 13, 1958 in Richland Center, he was married to Fern WYNN, who survives. He was retired from the former Studebaker Corporation and from farming. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Fulton County Historical Society. Surviving with the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Bette) SWEANY, Rt. 3, Rochester; five grandchildren, Mark BRYANT, Kokomo; Debby HEISHMAN and Robert BRYANT Jr., both of Rochester, and Dennis and David SWEANY, both of Fort Myers, Fla. eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Esther STEELE, Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by four sisters, three brothers and a son, Robert [BRYANT], in 1977. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. C.J. MOWRER officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and on Friday from 9 a.m. until time of services.
