Aquila I. Smith went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2009. She was born on August 5, 1921 in Boswell, Oklahoma to the late Leonidas and Myrtle Carrol. Aquila was an Army Veteran. She retired from Tinker AFB after 21 years. She also had 20 years of scouting and was also a member of the order of the Amaranth. She is preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Smith and her daughter, Marilyn Hawes. Aquila is survived by her sons, John & wife Kathy Smith, Lewis Smith, Ralph & wife Stacy Smith, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Aquila Smith's services will be on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 10:00 AM held at Advantage Mid-Del Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, Oklahoma.
