Lydia Angeline Gaunt was born near Long Lane, Missouri, August 19, 1877 and entered into rest after six weeks illness at the home, 3 miles south of Buffalo, July 2, 1946. At the time of her death she was 68 years, 10 months and 17 days of age.
She was the daughter of Washington and Nancy Hill. She was united in marriage to Fost Gaunt on February 11, 1894. She lived in Dallas County all her life.
She leaves to mourn her passing her bereaved companion, 6 sisters, Mrs. W. D. Blankenship of Springfield, Missouri, Mrs. O. D. Gaunt of Long Lane, Missouri, Mrs. W. F. Triplett of Long Lane, Missouri, Mrs. Ressie Cheek of Independence, Missouri, Mrs. G. L. Christian of Long Lane, Missouri, and Mrs. Stella Harrell; deceased, one half brother, W. O. Hill of Buffalo, Missouri; 11 children, Mrs. Alma Bradley and Mrs. Alta McDaniel of Long Lane, Missouri, Mrs. Dona Howser of Louisburg, Missouri, Mrs. Pansy Richerson of Buffalo, Missouri, Mrs. Maud Russell of Galena, Kansas, Mrs. Daisy Richerson of Santa Paula, California, Mrs. Anna Gann of Kansas City, Missouri, Mrs. Jewell Rose of Kansas City, Kansas, Everett Gaunt of Buckner, Missouri, Clarence Gaunt of Elkland, Missouri, and Paul Gaunt of Buffalo; 43 grand children, 30 great grandchildren a large number of nieces and nephews and relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Mrs. Gaunt had a pleasant smile for all and will be sadly missed. It was in the early morning she closed her eyes to dath. Dear mother, Oh! dear mother We know you are at rest.
Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church in Buffalo with the Rev. Ross Carter officiating on Wednesday, July 8, 1946 at s:30 pm. Interment was in Prairie Grove Cemetery under direction of the Montgomery Vaughan Funeral Home of Buffalo.
