By 1865 this family was listed at Ottumwa, Coffey County, Kansas, with the addition of a daughter, M. S. Bell, age 4, born in Kansas. Coffey County, Kansas is where G. W. S. Bell enlisted in the 12th Kansas Infantry during the Civil War. Married Matilda N. Clayton on March 10, 1853, in Madison County, Illinois. (Illinois marriage index)
