Winifred I. Woodhead, 86, of Sheridan, WY, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006 in Westview Health Care Center.
Mrs. Woodhead was born October 20, 1919 in Sheridan, WY to Walter and Emma (Kulper) Harris. She grew up and attended schools in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1937.
Winnie married William Woodhead on March 20, 1941 in Sheridan, and the couple lived and raised their family in Sheridan.
Winnie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sheridan. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, doing jigsaw puzzles, and playing games with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; two sisters, Nellie Harris, and Naomi Bissell; and two brothers, Walt and Floyd Harris.
Winnie is survived by two daughters, Sharon Leo, and husband, James, of Sheridan, WY; and Wanda Sloan, husband, Michael, of Cave Junction, OR; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great, great granddaughter.
Visitation for Winnie will be from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Derryberry officiating. Interment will be in the Eagle's Section of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
Memorials in memory of Winnie may be made to the Sheridan Senior Citizen's Center, 211 Smith St., Sheridan, WY 82801 or to the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association.
