William Asberry Young was born November 19, 1874 and departed from this life June 4, 1951. He was married to Lucy Jane Starr July 26, 1903 and to this union was born seven children, six daughters and one son. All children are living. They are, Mrs. Audra Pruitt, and Mrs. Nella Cantrell of Fairplay, Mo.; Mrs. Myrtle Jones of Ft. Worth, Texas; Mrs. Edna Murray, Mrs. Minnie Keef, Mrs. Edith Jones and Jim Young all of Kansas City, and 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Snow, Yuba City, Calif., and Mrs. Angie Jones of Anderson, Mo.; one half brother Tom Kirkendoll of Ft. Worth, Texas. Mr. Young was a member of the church for 37 years in which he was a great worker for the Lord. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Jasper for 45 years.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Reba Childrers Wednesday afternoon at the Assembly of God church. Burial was made in Jasper cemetery.
