William was the son of the late Bertrand and Mary(Suss)Baur he was the oldest of eight children, he had a twin Walter not sure which one was older.
William married Maude Gwinn in Caseville June 27, 1912 and they had two sons George and Norman.
Survivors are his two sons; three brothers Walter(his twin), Bertrand and Royal and one sister Wanda.
He died at the Detroit Hospital five days after an accident in a tractor-auto collison at the corner of Berne and Caseville Rd. The Baur family goes back more than a century in history of this area. His Grandfather, Rev. Emil Baur founded the Ora Labora Colony in Bay Port in 1847, Elder Baur purchased 3,000 acres from the US Government. He named the nearby water "Wild Fowl Bay" a tile that still remains.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister Clara(1892); two brothers Paul(1898) and Emil(1921).
