MURPHY SERVICES SET FOR TUESDAY
STURGIS MARCH 20 Services will be held in the Presbyterian church Tuesday at 10am for David Richard Murphy, 70, who died here Wednesday at the home of a daughter.
The Rev.C.D Erskine will officiate and burial will be in the White Owl Cemetery under the direction of the F.O. Jolley Funeral home.
Murphy was born Aug 3, 1873 in Denver Colorado and to the Black Hills when he was six years old, settling in Rapid valley. He was married Nov 13, 1893 to Pearl Parrish and in 1898 they moved to Red Owl where she died in 1918. He was married in 1920 to Daisy McDonald and they came to Sturgis in 1937 living there since.
Surviving are his wife: three sons Ray of Red Owl, Julian of Plaza WA and David of Rapid Valley; two daughters Mrs Clinton Thompson of Sturgis SD and Mrs Roy Palmer of Red Owl SD; and a brother Isaac Murphy of Creston SD,; two sisers Mary Haas and Edna Schuster of Rapid City SD, 23 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Date of the second marriage:
After Pearl's death, David R Murphy was married to Daisie McDonall on 22 Dec 1920 Meade.
