SCOTT, Alvin Sr. was born May 28, 1838 in Naperville, DuPage County, Illinois the son of Willard Scott Sr. and Caroline Hawley. He married Marietta Emeline Gould October 28, 1857 in Racine, Wisconsin and they were the parents of three children, William, Alvin Jr., Elinora (William Walter Tarbell) and Clara. He was a local merchant and sold groceries. He served as Naperville Village Trustee in 1861, 1862, 1864 and 1868, as City Treasurer in 1880 and 1881, and as Lisle Township Supervisor in 1904. He was raised a Master Mason June 5, 1866. He died March 29, 1907 in Naperville, DuPage County, Illinois and was buried in the Naperville Cemetery.
