Mr. Thomas was born June 25, 1901, in Washington County, Arkansas and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a farmer and a construction worker, and from 1942-45, he worked at the DuPont Demours and Company Powder Plant in Pryor. He retired from Wagoner Public School System in 1966, where he had worked for 10 years. On October 29, 1922, he married Mary Magdalene Allison at Thorny, Arkansas. He attended Plain View County School in Arkansas. One daughter, Wilma Ruth Thomas, died in 1966.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Harold of Tulsa, three daughters; Nadine Cothran of Miami, Arizona, Edna Tyree of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Kathleen Gritts of Broken Arrow; four brothers, Ewell of Corcoran, California, Lloyd of Tulsa, Jay of Hulbert and Warren of Springdale, Arkansas; one sister, Anna Jameson, of Springdale; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
