Catherine L. Rehagen, 73, St. Elizabeth, died Sunday at Still Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug 17, 1920, in Meta, the daughter of Ben and Anna Meiburger Scheulen.
She was married Oct. 12, 1937, in St. Louis to George Rehagen, who died Sept. 6, 1971. She worked for Ottenheimer Uniform Factory in Meta for 17 years, retiring in 1985. After that, she operated a day care center in her home. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth and of St. Annís Sodality.
Survivors include: one son, Lawrence "Dick" Rehagen, Meta; two daughters, Marilyn Nilges, St. Elizabeth, and Marjorie Herigon, St. Thomas; one sister, Mamie Wansing, Meta; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A son, Bernard Rehagen, preceded her in death in 1951.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. The Rev. John Degnan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today at Stevinson-Rekus Funeral Home, St. Elizabeth, with a rosary at 7:30.
