"Clifford Hayes, 74, of Reserve, died at the Brown County Hospital Tuesday noon, December 9, 1952, following an illness of four weeks. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Swaim, one son, Harold C. Hayes, one granddaughter, two sisters, Jessie Berkley and Lizzie Dorei, one brother, Earl Hayes, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from Meek's Chapel at 2 o'clock Thursday, December 11, with interment at the Mt. Hope Cemetery."

"Funeral services for Clifford Hayes of Reserve were held from Meek's Chapel at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, December 11, 1952, with Rev. James Rousseau of the Reserve Christian Church officiating. Margaret Green, accompanied by Mrs. G.A. Hall, sang "Rock of Ages," and "Beyond the Sunset". Body bearers were Amos Ebel, Earl Yarnell, Lloyd Chase, Harry Swain, Clarence Hilt, and Otis Vonderschmidt. Assisting with the flowers were Mrs. Amos Ebel, and Mrs. Clarence Hilt. Interment was at the Mt. Hope Cemetery."
