John Louis Schnurstein, 86, Monday, of complications of age; had been in poor health two years; born Feb 25, 1865 at Schenectady, NY, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Schnurstein; baptized when an infant in the Lutheran church in New York and confirmed at the St Paul's Lutheran church in Siegel; made their home in Tripoli and he was a rural mail carrier out of Tripoli from 1901 to 1930; member of Grace Lutheran Church of Tripoli; leaves wife, three daughters, Mrs. Henry C Rogge, Tripoli, Mrs. Verne Dunahoo, Fredericka, Mrs. Ray Downing, Waverly,; three brothers Will, Venice, Cal; Fred, Tripoli, and Edward, Ionia; one sister, Mrs. Watson Lewis, Fredericksburg, nine grandchildren; funeral , Thursday at 1:30 p. m. from the funeral home and 1:45 from Grace Lutheran church; burial in Fremont cemetery.
