The body of Mrs. Blanche H. Carpenter, wife of A. B. Carpenter of Franklin avenue and McCadden place, Hollywood, arrived in Los Angeles yesterday from Mexico, ,where Mrs. Carpenter died. Mr. Carpenter, who accompanied the body to Los Angeles, is a prominent mining man in Mexico, and Mrs. Carpenter went there two months ago. She died at Lake Chapela [sic], where she and Mr. Carpenter were staying. Mrs. Carpenter was a younger daughter of Jay Hubbell, founder of the Michigan College of Mines. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p. m. at St. Stephen's church, Hollywood, to which Mrs. Carpenter had been a liberal contributor. Rev. L. Arthur Evans will officiate, burial to be in Hollywood cemetery. Besides her husband, Mrs. Carpenter leaves an infant son. [Los Angeles Herald (California), Tues., 14 Dec 1909]
