On last Thursday, April 3, Mrs. I.W.Sadler whose home was in Berry community north of Hickory, died in Newton Infirmary following a continued illness of several months. Mrs. Sadler had fallen in her home several weeks ago in an effort to walk across the room in a weakened condition and broke her hip. She was brought to Newton Infirmary where she remained some time under treatment for the fracture and other illness. Since then she had been in the home of her sister, Mrs. J. E. Bounds, near Newton where she was taken seriously ill early in the day of her death and was rushed to the Infirmary where she died shortly after arrival.
Mrs. Lula Everett Sadler was born October 13, 1883, in the Pine Bluff community north of Newton, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. K. Everett of that community. She was married to I. W. Sadler of the Berry community on June 18, 1916 and to this union were born three sons, I. W., Jr., Robert and William Everett. Her husband and three sons survive. Also, surviving are her father, four brothers and three sisters all of whom were present at the last rites.
Mrs.Sadler joined the Pine Bluff Baptist Church in young womanhood and had remained a consistent member of the church ever since. The body was conveyed to the home of her father soon after death where it remained until the following morning when the funeral was held from the Pine Bluff Church, with Reverends H. A. Woods, J. E. Wills and H. H. Bethune officiating and interment in the cemetery there.
